Kacy's Bio

KACY BENSON was born in Springhill, Louisiana, in 1970. At 5 years old, his alcoholic father walked out on the family. Kacy’s mother, in order to provide for him and his younger brother, moved them to Galveston, Texas. She worked several jobs and often, out of necessity, left the boys with family or babysitters.

Kacy grew to become an angry, rebellious teenager. At one point, having more than she could handle, his mother allowed him to find and live with his father in Louisiana. While there, a friend from school began inviting Kacy to church. Eventually Kacy gave in and found himself regularly attending the youth group meetings. Sometime later, while attending a Jay Strack event in Bossier City, Kacy surrendered his heart to the Lord.

Kacy eventually found himself back with his mother in Galveston. With so much hurt and anger in his heart, he began using his humor and unique talents to ease the pain. Over time, and after a few more years of running, he began sensing a unique calling on his life.

Kacy realized that his humor and talents were gifts from God and felt called to use them in ministry. After several years serving in local ministry and for a large summer camping program, his phone began to ring with speaking requests.

As part of the ministry God gave him, Kacy taught numerous classes such as Old and New Testament and Christian Home and Family at Hyde Park Baptist Schools in Austin, Tx.  He served at the school from 2000-2010, and in addition he spent eight of those years as the Varsity Head Boy's Basketball Coach.

Today Kacy’s passion is to use his humor and life stories to lead students into closer relationship with our Lord.

As a part of that ministry, Kacy travels and speaks to youth groups at various events across the country. He has taken part in many Disciple Nows, Summer Camps, FCA Events, and other like events.

Kacy’s heart for students is amazing! He has a true desire to see young people surrender their lives to the Lord. Using humor, his life story, and the topics that plague students today, Kacy reaches into their hearts and shares the love of Christ with every word he speaks.

Kacy and his wife Vickie live in Austin, Texas, with their two sons, Coleton and Tyton. Kacy is an incredible husband and devoted father.
